Useful
Information

Please help us make this a memorable experience for you by paying attention to the following house rules.

General

  • We operate a no-shoes policy indoors (except when inside the gym) to encourage an environment of total relaxation and positivity. Please feel free to bring a pair of indoor slippers if you like, and slippers are also available to purchase if you’ve forgotten yours. We have provided shoes for use within the public toilets, please make sure you leave the shoes there when finished.

  • We serve to create an atmosphere of love and interconnection and therefore maintain a vegetarian policy throughout the entire estate. Non-vegetarian food, alcohol and smoking are not allowed anywhere in the building or on the grounds.

Accommodation

  • Enjoy a naturally healthy sleep on our luxurious eco-friendly bedding in each bedroom.

  • Complimentary toiletries are provided. These are recyclable so please do not throw them in the bins – you can leave them near the sink before check-out.

  • Housekeeping: Your linen and room will not be cleaned during your stay unless specifically advised. Please let us know if you require an extra clean or a change of linen.

  • Towels: Please leave all used towels in the bathroom.

  • Check-out is at 10am on the final day of your retreat.

Accessibility

  • The Vedanta strives to offer the best possible standards of customer care to each guest, no matter what their needs might be. The main part of the building dates back to the 1800’s, yet we have tried wherever possible to be wheelchair accessible.

  • We have lift access to most of our floors, but the lift is not large enough for a wheelchair. Please feel free to call us in advance to discuss your specific needs.

Wellness

  • Guests have exclusive 24/7 access to our Gym which features a variety of equipment for your workout. Please use headphones if you would like to listen to music during your workout.

  • We have a Spa onsite, including a swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, and treatment room. There are lockers and changing rooms available within the Spa. This is available if your retreat has booked the Spa Package. The Spa is open 7am-9am and 5pm-9pm. The entire Spa area is without a lifeguard and The Vedanta does not accept any responsibility for guests using the facilities. Children under the age of 14 cannot use the spa, and must be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian when using the swimming pool.

  • We also have a Meditation Room where you can meditate, read or just be. There is an excellent selection of books you are welcome to browse. We can make most of these books available to purchase – please ask a member of staff if you wish to do so.

Travel

  • Train: The closest station is Lincoln Station (10 min drive from The Vedanta), which is approximately a 2.5-hour journey from Kings Cross and Birmingham New Street.

  • Car: There is free parking on-site for 45 cars.

The Location

  • We could talk about our beautiful surroundings all day, but we don’t want to spoil the magic. In a nutshell, be prepared for miles of walking trails, expansive country views, lakes, forests, and historic sights. Read about some of our local recommendations here.

Good Behaviour

  • We want all our guests to have a happy and safe retreat. Therefore, we have the right to bring your retreat to an end without compensation if we think (at our reasonable discretion) that your behaviour or the behaviour of anyone in your group is risking the safety or wellbeing of others. Guests may not bring, or use, any firearm, fireworks, illegal substances, offensive weapons, hazardous chemicals, or any similar item.

  • Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions at all, our team will be happy to help! Simply email info@thevedanta.org.
