About Us
Nestled amongst 75 acres of woodlands, meadows and lakes is The Vedanta; a Grade II listed Elizabethan estate. The house has previously served as family home, hospital and hotel and now is ready to serve you. Whether your retreat be educational, recreational or perhaps a family celebration or corporate retreat, we offer a choice of 48 tastefully decorated bedrooms of various sizes; seminar spaces; event halls and dining rooms.

An integral aspect of our ethos is living symbiotically with the natural world. Parcels of land around The Vedanta will be transformed into eco-patches for visitors to plant on in the winter and then to harvest in the summer!
The Estate
What we offer goes above and beyond a dry-hire event space. The beautiful spaces and nature are the perfect setting for all kinds of retreats. Make the space yours. Discussions around the bonfire, paddle-boarding in the lake, lawn games in the afternoon sun or enjoying beautiful day-time walks before slowing ebbing away time in the spa; floating in the pool, warming in the sauna and detoxing in the steam room.

The Vedanta is committed to the concept of ‘Ahimsa — compassion for all’, which serves to create an atmosphere of love and respect for all beings. We offer an exciting variety of delicious vegan and vegetarian food.
While our menus are influenced by cultures around the world, we try to use as much seasonal, local produce as possible. Do the taste test.
